What is Lymphedema?
Lymphedema is the abnormal accumulation of protein rich fluids. It can develop in the arm(s), leg(s), head and neck, anywhere the body. Primary lymphedema is caused by malformation of the lymphatic system and may be present at birth or develop later, often during puberty or pregnancy. Secondary lymphedema is caused by trauma, infection, surgery, removal of lymph nodes, radiation or chronic venous insufficiency.
Lymphedema is a chronic condition for which there is no cure at this time, but must be treated to prevent worsening.

Caroline Lambe PT, DPT
Dr. Caroline Lambe is a Physical Therapist that specializes in Oncology Rehab. Caroline earned a doctoral degree from Mercy College, NY in 2014 and has been a certified Lymphedema Therapist trained by the Norton School of Lymphedema Therapy since 2016.
She has experience working in acute care and outpatient rehab working with a variety of complex patient populations.
In her free time Caroline loves playing outside with her two young daughters, enjoys adventures traveling with her husband exploring the world and different cultures.
